“These grants are making a huge impact on this family. This woman has become a Christian and her whole life has change – I believe the grants showed her the gospel wasn’t just hymns and prayers – Thanks!”
The Presbyterian Orphan and Children’s Society is an organisation supporting Presbyterian children and their families within Ireland. Our work is confidential, centred on children and focused on our families. In many cases our help is long-term. We currently help 778 children directly through regular grants and many more through exceptional payments. In addition, we have been involved in:• Helping some of our families to go to the PCI Family Holiday• Funding Child Contact Centres for children of separated parents• Funding the child protection card ‘We Care 4U’We gave £435,000 last year in regular and exceptional grants for children and we spent £12,000 on all our other projects.
Today there are many different causes and literally thousands of charities. So why help the Society? Mainly because we are locally based, helping Presbyterian children in Ireland in a practical way. We are here to meet need and whilst much has changed in our 140 year history, children and families still need our help.
Here are three responses which illustrate the relevance of our work today. The first from a minister the others from families:
“These grants are making a huge impact on this family. This woman has become a Christian and her whole life has changed”.
“For the support you have offered, the help we have been given, it all means so much”.
“The Society’s help over the last few years has made my family’s life so much easier”.
